Hill Kills

Whatever else you may think of Hillary Clinton, know this. She's no pushover. Testifying before Senate and House committees on the Benghazi attack, the outgoing Secretary of State, former New York Senator and current 2016 Democratic frontrunner for president not only held her own, she cut her opponents up into tiny, little pieces.

In one of the most desperate attempts to pander to the conspiracy nuts within their ranks, Republican senators Ron Johnson and Rand Paul both took their turns dredging up the now utterly failed strategy of accusing the Administration of engaging in a massive cover up to help Barack Obama win reelection. Paul, for his part, had the gall to say that had he been president he would've relieved Clinton of her duties. Paul should live so long.

But the best moment for Clinton occurred when she handed Johnson his lunch:

"With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because there was a protest or was it because there were guys who went out for a walk one night who decided they would kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and to do everything we can to make sure it never happens again."

The longer the GOP continues to cling to this failed strategy, the longer it will be before they are taken seriously. In a little over seven hours Hillary Clinton made them all look foolish without breaking a sweat. And she wasn't even running for anything. Imagine how much  more ridiculous this will look in three and a half years when she's in the middle of wrapping up the Democratic nomination and they're still chasing red herrings.
