Welcome to a new feature on the blog, which I call Left
Overs. (Get the pun?) I’d like to think of it as a hodge-podge of
topics I feel are still important, but because of time constraints, just
couldn’t get around to writing about.
Instead of the usual full-length feature, topics chosen will
be short and concise. Kinda like CNN
Headline News, for those who don’t have time to endure whatever it is that CNN actually
does for a living.
Chick-Fil-A Controversy: It comes down to this: two wrongs don’t make
a right. You don’t like the intolerance
and bigotry of a business, you boycott it.
What you don’t do is ban it from setting up shop in your
neighborhood. Thanks to the nitwits in
Boston and Chicago, what could’ve been a moral victory for same-sex proponents,
has now been coopted by anti-gay activists who have somehow managed to garner
sympathy for their myopic cause. Nice
goin’ guys!
Shepard Smith
Criticizing Chick-Fil-A on Fox News: Does somebody want to break the news
to poor old Shep that he works for Roger Ailes?
I hope his resume is up to date.
The Grover Norquist /
Frank Gaffney Food Fight: How cynical must I be to actually be enjoying
this? I mean one guy is a cancer in American
politics and has all but kidnapped the majority of his party; the other is a
myopic Islamophobe who makes Donald Trump look legit. It’s kinda like watching Mussolini and Hitler
in a wrestling match.
Harry Reid Calls Out
Mitt Romney on His Tax Returns: Either Reid knows something, or he's betting that Romney won't call his bluff, or he's a world-class idiot. Only time will tell. If it’s either of the first two then Romney is toast; if it’s
the latter, the Senate Majority Leader may have just given the White House to
Thurston Howell III.
